After an initial degree in classics and art history, Inge served in the US Peace Corps in West Africa teaching English to children in a rural village. She then taught as a high school French teacher in her home town, New York. Inge moved to Paris in 2001 and spent time in a monastery in Burgundy where she studied and led tours of the Romanesque basilica, La Madeleine, a Unesco World Heritage site. She went on to earn a Master's degree in linguistics and translation at the Sorbonne’s Ecole Supérieure d'Interprètes et de Traducteurs. Inge joined Paris Muse in 2007 as a docent and was Director of the company from 2011 to 2017.
