Tour Description
The Orsay is one of the city’s most beloved museums. After this experience, you’ll understand why. You and your private guide will follow the modern art movements in the time span covered by the Musée d’Orsay’s collections (1848-1914). You’ll begin with Corot, the Barbizon School, early Manet and Degas on the first floor, in order to understand how their bold innovations paved the way for the Impressionists. The Orsay’s famed collection of Impressionist and post-Impressionist painting will be the primary focus of your visit. We’ll look closely at Monet, Renoir, Cézanne, Gauguin, van Gogh, and Toulouse-Lautrec, with an eye for how each artist and generation influenced and challenged the next. You’ll have a meaningful experience looking at key masterpieces in the collection.
Traveling with kids? Check out Meeting the Impressionists: Orsay for Families (ages 6-12).
Your guide will bring your timed and dated tickets, and together you’ll use a priority access line to enter the museum. There will be a wait for the required security screening, however.
Our cancellation and change policies are here.

We Saw the Orsay with New Eyes
What a wonderful, intimate tour of the Musée d’Orsay we had with Inge. You could not have selected a more perfect guide for us. It was a birthday gift from my wife and what a joy. Though we have been to Paris over a dozen times, we saw the Orsay with new eyes. The development of the two hours was simply breathtaking in the detail of Inge’s knowledge. She listened carefully, based on our questions, and was able and willing to modify our tour that made us grow ( if that was possible) in our appreciation of the Impressionists movement. It was an art lesson that gave us a new appreciation of the art world and what it offers.

Ask for Victor
Victor Branthome's tour of Musee D’Orsay was one of the highlights of our trip! His ability to weave the social, political and historical contexts of the artworks into the description of the art itself made the pieces come alive. Victor really seemed to enjoy sharing his knowledge and love of art with us. We couldn’t help but be drawn in by his enthusiasm and energy. What a joy it would be to have Victor guide us through every single museum in Paris! Maybe next trip.

Another Excellent Experience with Paris Muse
Our Paris Muse Guide Karine, was excellent. This is a second time using Paris Muse and I would highly recommend their company's services. Karine was educated and entertaining, providing a great overview of the Musee d'Orsay during our two hour tour. She highlighted the best parts of the museum and explained how the collection was organized and how it came to be..... Overall, this was a fantastic experience.
