Contemporary Art at the Bourse

Thanks to dynamic new spaces like the Bourse de Commerce-Pinault Collection, Paris is reclaiming its role as the European capital of contemporary art. There is simply no other museum in Paris where you can discover so many new, emerging artists alongside iconic contemporary stars.

An ambitious program of ever-changing exhibitions means that no two visits to the Bourse are ever the same. Your private guide will take you through a carefully selected group of contemporary works from François Pinault’s exceptional collection of art from the 1960s to the present day.

Your private tour will also focus on the striking architecture of the Bourse itself.  Its four centuries of rich history include a Renaissance column and an 18th-century rotunda, topped by a stunning glass dome in the following century. You will discover its brilliant redevelopment into an art space by the Japanese architect Tadao Ando. Over the course of a decade, Ando created one of the most serenely beautiful combinations of past and present.  Finally, you’ll hear about the patron who dreamed of doing all this: François Pinault, the self-made French billionaire whose collection of roughly 10,000 works is one of the largest in the world. His passion for supporting artists can be felt in the ways their creativity is given free reign at the Bourse.
