"My grandmother was a collector, and she shared her love of art with me. Starting from when I was young, we explored museums and auction houses together. As a guide, I try to share that lifelong passion with my visitors. Art can be beautiful, but there is always more than meets the eye. Objects also give us the keys to understanding people and the connections between the past and the present. When we explore the historical and political contexts of an art object or monument in front of us, that’s when new questions and meaningful conversations can happen."
Caroline was born and raised in Paris. She earned an MA in Law and Economics at the Sorbonne and then studied Art History at the École du Louvre. While working for several years as an auctioneer for several international houses, she specialized in both classical and modern art. Now as a Paris Muse guide, Caroline draws on her auction house career, her expertise in classical art, her passion for art fairs—and for Paris, of course!
