"I remember dreading museums as a kid. They were “don’t” spaces—don’t run, don’t touch, don’t laugh, don’t be silly, don’t ask too many questions, don’t fall behind ! It took me a while to come back to museums, and eventually fall in love with their treasures. That’s why my goal now as guide is to flip that script and create a space of “dos”—do stare, do ask questions, do be silly, do crack jokes, do disagree, do share your opinion, and do take your time !
I try to spark each child’s curiosity and leave them wanting to discover even more. That’s why I prefer to focus on a few meaningful activities to truly engage kids (and their parents, too !) In fact, museum tours should be an all-hands-on-deck experience for the whole family. Figuring things out together and sharing those discoveries turns the visit into a lasting memory. That’s what family tours are all about for me."
My favorite place in Paris for urban sketching is the Passerelle Léopold-Sédar-Senghor.
Dina has been leading private tours in Paris since 2017. Her educational background combines an MA in French History, with advanced studies completed at both the Université d’Aix-en-Provence and Université Rennes in France. Her most recent academic training was a two-year program at the École du Louvre. Before turning to a career in guiding, Dina worked in publishing, marketing, and communications. When she’s not leading visitors through the Louvre or private apartments at Versailles, she’s discovering new exhibitions on her own, writing about art, or experimenting with urban sketching.
