Caroline Rossiter
"When I first visited the Louvre as a wide-eyed art history undergraduate, I remember my dad wanted to see everything. We all soon realized it would be impossible in a single visit. And two decades later, it’s still not possible! That’s part of what makes the Louvre so special. It holds many lifetimes of learning. The Paris Muse approach, to focus closely on the history of key pieces, set into the context of a larger story, makes what could be an overwhelming experience into an accessible, meaningful one. I find leading family tours especially rewarding and joyful. The energy and enthusiasm of children can be contagious. They bring a fresh perspective, and they also tend to ask the most challenging questions!”
My favorite place in Paris is more of a moment. It’s cycling over the Pont au Change. If you can catch it at sunrise, you feel as if some magic is at work.
Caroline studied French and Art History at UCL (University College London), before coming to Paris to pursue her graduate studies in Art History at Paris IV La Sorbonne. She wrote her thesis on popular imagery and caricature in Revolutionary and Napoleonic Paris. When not leading tours, she teaches Art History and English to students at the Sorbonne and the Catholic Institute of Paris. Otherwise, she can be found with her nose in a book, or sniffing out bargains at vintage stores.
