Victor Branthome
"I am Parisian born and bred, so I grew up surrounded by some of the world’s most famous artworks. But it took an Inter-rail trip across Europe as a teenager for me to really fall in love with museums. Today I know all the stories that I wished I had known then, and more besides. However, having been brought up without a focus on art, I know how it feels not to know. That’s why it’s such a pleasure for me to share my knowledge with visitors who haven’t spent much time in museums. I like to think of myself as a storyteller who crafts tours that are as much fun as they are informative."
My favorite place to wander is the Buttes aux Cailles. Its art studios and narrow, cobbled streets give it the feel of a village. It’s the perfect place to “boire un verre” (have a drink) on a terrace and discover another side of Paris.
After studying law, Victor decided to follow his real passion and earned degrees in the History of Art from the Sorbonne and then l’Ecole du Louvre, during which time the Louvre became his second home. Having worked for several years as a guide in Paris, leading tours on the history of the city and even its street art, Victor is ideally placed to share insider tips about his hometown.
