Rémy Delapierre
"As a native Parisian, I enjoy the deep connection I have with my hometown. When sharing it as a guide, I try to combine people’s expectations of this famous city, while also introducing them to its lesser known aspects. In a gallery during any museum tour, there are three key subjects: the visitor, the art, and me! Since the art can’t speak, I try to give it a voice. When a visitor asks me a question, I respond based on what I’ve learned about them during our brief time together. It’s not just about sharing information, in other words; it’s about creating a unique experience, based on lasting connections between all three of us!"
My favorite place for classic, affordable French food in a setting that takes you back to the 1950s is: Bouillon Chartier.
Rémy has been working as a guide in Paris for ten years, after earning his professional guide degree in 2015. He grew up in Paris, but spent three years in Japan in the early 2000s, where he gained an appreciation of the challenges negotiating a new culture as a foreigner. Rémy earned his MBA from the ESSEC Business School in 2005. In his spare time, he runs marathons, and also enjoys Lego building with his young son, when not outside introducing him to the wonders of our city.
