Julien Savadoux
"‘Nothing great in the world has ever been done without passion,’ according to Hegel, the German philosopher. For me, teaching art and history is all about introducing museum visitors to the exceptional people who, driven by their passions, left a lasting mark on the world. As a guide, I try to help visitors see art as a way to understand today’s fast-paced, changing world. Museums bring culture and civilizations to life, illuminating the connections between the past and present."
My favorite off-the-beaten-track museum in Paris is the Musée Gustave Moreau, a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Julien studied both history and art history at Paris' Sorbonne University, graduating with a degree in cultural mediation. He has been leading tours in the city's museums and historic sites ever since. His university courses focused on ancient and medieval history. A Parisian native, Julien never tires of sharing insiders' tips for discovering his city's hidden gems.
